Back to school again… this time, enjoying it.

Getting to Know the School

1. Is Teach Me Srpski an officially registered school

Yes — Teach Me Srpski is an officially registered school for teaching Serbian as a foreign/non-native language. It’s also certified by the Qualifications Agency of the Republic of Serbia (under the Ministry of Education) — the only school with a fully online approach to this certification.

2. Who is your teacher

Milica Lazarević has years of experience teaching people from all over the world — different ages, language levels, interests, and goals. She holds an MA in Serbian Language and Literature, formal training in teaching adults, and Ministry of Education–recognized training for teaching Serbian as a foreign language.

3. What sets us apart from other Serbian courses

This is a school where your voice really matters! Together, we’ll build a fully individual learning plan based on your goals, schedule, and habits — always aligned with CEFR standards for your chosen level. Every program is tailored to you, and everything — including the certification exam — is fully online.

4. Do you only offer individual lessons

Not at all! Alongside individual lessons, I also run group sessions — like Serbian Club and thematic workshops — where you can connect and practice with fellow learners. Take a look at Our Programs to see everything on offer.

Finding your level

1. I know only a few basic words in Serbian. Can I join your lessons

Absolutely! Complete beginners are welcome — I’ll guide you safely through the basics, gradually building your grammar, vocabulary, and confidence using a proven methodology.

2. How do we know which level I belong to

At the start of our collaboration, we’ll have a 15-minute conversation to get to know each other.”] This also helps me understand your level — verbally or through a placement test — so we can plan your upcoming lessons together.

3. I speak Serbian pretty well, but I want to improve, correct and polish my skills. What do you have to offer for me

Beyond structured lessons for various levels, including advanced levels, I offer specially designed sessions focused on speaking skills, conversational practice, group lessons, creative writing, and thematic workshops for students who already have a foundation and want to build fluency and creative confidence beyond the basics.

Inside a Lesson

1. What's a lesson with you actually like

Each individual lesson is 50 minutes long, and we always follow an agreed structure: the first 10 minutes are for warming up and expressing yourself freely, followed by checking homework, then the main part of the lesson — learning new material and practicing together — and finally, summing up what we’ve learned.

2. What language do we communicate in during lessons

With total beginners, we usually communicate in English when needed, especially at the start. From there, I gradually shift into Serbian as soon as you’re ready — the goal is always to get you speaking and thinking in Serbian as early and naturally as possible. I also understand Russian, which can help if that’s easier for you at first.

3. What do I need for our lessons

Once we schedule your regular lessons, you’ll receive an invitation link, a list of materials we’ll use, and access to our shared online notebook, where all your lessons are saved. All you’ll need is Zoom, a stable internet connection, quiet place or headphones, and a classic, old-fashioned notebook — soon you’ll know why!

4. What materials and textbooks do you use

I recommend one core textbook chosen to fit your specific needs and goals — alongside that, I add personalized materials tailored to you as we go.

5. What's your teaching approach or philosophy

I’m here to guide you and help you start speaking as quickly as possible. On this exciting journey, you’ll listen, try, and make mistakes without feeling uncomfortable — you’ll hear interesting things, surprise yourself, and be proud of what you’ve achieved. I truly believe in you!

Pricing & Format

1. Are lessons online, in person, or both

Individual lessons are conducted online for students abroad. For students based in Belgrade, there’s also the option of in-person lessons, if preferred.

2. Who do you work with

Students of all backgrounds are welcome — including young learners, expats, students at the University, couples learning together, business professionals with specific short-term goals, and those learning for family reasons. I’m happy to design a tailored program around what you actually need.

3. How much do lessons cost

The price for a single individual lesson is 35 eur. Once we agree on a plan — whether that’s a set number of lessons, a regular weekly commitment, or a goal-based track like exam preparation — I offer a special discounted rate tailored to it.

4. What payment methods do you accept

Payments can be made via PayPal or bank transfer, in EUR or RSD (Serbian dinars) — whichever works best for you.

5. Do you offer support for D-visa applications

Yes. Once you’ve enrolled and your first payment is confirmed, I provide an official enrollment confirmation letter on school letterhead, along with our Ministry of Education accreditation documents — everything needed to support a D-visa application for learning Serbian. Before that, we’ll have a short call to make sure the program fits your visa timeline and level.

6. What's your cancellation and rescheduling policy

I ask for at least 12 hours’ notice for any cancellation or rescheduling — this helps me keep things organized and open up that time for other students. If we agree on an alternative time together, there’s no charge, even with less notice. And of course, life happens — sudden illness or genuine emergencies are never billed, just let me know as soon as you can.

Getting Started

1. How do I know if we're a good fit before committing

That’s exactly what our first conversation is for — before anything is agreed, we’ll talk through your goals and see if this feels right for both of us.

2. How do I get started

Together, we agree on a date and time, you send me your email for booking along with your first installment — take your time, get ready, and let’s begin this exciting journey together!
